My fairytale took me into the enchanted forest lately, where I met a pixie with flowers in her hair, whose house smells of rose and spices.

I had leftover egg yolks from baking the raspberry & mango roulade (a few posts ago). In search of inspiration, I stumbled upon @oliveandartisan.

Cooing over her gorgeous photography and recipes really brightened my muggy Friday afternoon. Rose, orange blossom, cardamom, saffron… such fragrances are very much close to my heart. Isn’t it wonderful how technology carries us like the clever north wind, to discover and connect with kindred spirits far and wide? 🌬💫🌈💗

So I made this rose créme baklava; the rose créme is from the pretty lady’s vanilla bean & rose tarts recipe on her blog. As baking is a kind of prayer and meditation for me, I dedicated the rose scented baklava to Lakshmi, the Hindu counterpart of Venus, goddess of beauty and prosperity 🌹🍰🍯💕

My nourish prayer would be incomplete without sharing my abundance. After taking some pictures in the ancient walled garden as twilight began its embrace, I knocked on neighbours’ door to offer my sweet treat. I was welcomed to join their table for roast chicken and red wine, where we mused about the heavens until the small hours.
